Happy I ordered Tekkonkinkreet Black Side and The Art of Yashushi Suzuki a little while ago and I hve them both now so I wanted to say ASDFGHJKL THEY'RE AWESOME!!
The Tekkonkinkreet one is 1/3 colored pictures and the rest are sketches and penciling. It's mostly places and rooms, with a few pictures of the characters, which is awesome, because the places are the best part anyways. The text is in Jpanaese though. Not much text, but be warned. XD There are like 2 paragraphs of text and a few sentences otherwise troughout the book. Totally worth it. I bought it here if you want to get it, there are many other worthy books on the same website too, browse to your hearts content.
[link]I'd also like to take this chance to advertise the mvie that tis artbook is for, Tekkonkinkreet Also known as Tekkon Kinkreet. A beautiful movie, the animation is great, the stroy is great, the artwork is great... It won an academy award in Japan you know. Great movie. cried like 14 times. XD;;; Mt favorate characters were Kimura and Suzuki (I thought this was funny because the Art Directer/ of the movie is Shinji Kimura[As in, he gets his name on the cover of the artbook] and my other artbook is Yasushi Suzuki's! Funny, right?! XD;;; )
Yasushi Suzuki's artbook is beautiful too, It's al people, and all color (Save for 2 small character design sketches for his manga Purgatory Kabuki believe-still, that's just one page and it's still beautiful. c: ) There are also 2 interviews in the back and a short history of Suzuki as well. Text is in both English and Japanese. I love his style! : D Bought this one here[link]
